A copper-tinted bronze libation cup ornate in the tradition of ancient Chinese ritual bronzes. The finely cast vessel is layered with hand-chased details, illuminated by a stunning kirin finial on the top, and guarded by two lion heads on the lid. The oval-shaped koro is graciously proportioned. The variant of eloquence shows two elaborated male phoenixes 鳳 flanking outward for handles. Four embossed dragons are wrapping around the sides; below which emerge four flared legs in the form of female phoenixes 凰, splaying outward above a round corner rectangular pedestal. The crisp interlocking figures on this vessel are among the finest of their kind. The censer is glistened by metallic motifs with a luscious patina. It appears well used with the residue of incense ashes on the inside. Exceedingly heavy at 12 lbs, the reddish-bronze censer is in excellent condition.
