This exquisite gilt bronze figure embodies the transcendent presence of Amoghasiddhi, the "All-Accomplishing Wisdom Buddha" and one of the esteemed Five Meditation Buddhas. Seated in the dhyanasana lotus position, his visage is a study in serenity; downcast eyes suggest a state of profound inner absorption. The deity’s hands are elegantly rendered with engraved chakras in the palms: the right extends in the Varada Mudra, symbolizing boundless charity, while the left rests in the Dhyana Mudra, holding the foundation of spiritual wisdom. The figure is swathed in a copper-hued monastic robe (sanghati), richly gilded and chased with intricate motifs. This vestment displays a masterful synthesis of Newari and Tibetan aesthetics, adorned with five dragons, a Garuda mask, and the five sensory offerings on the reverse of the lotus throne. The patina of the robe speaks eloquently of its age and history. The sculpture is consecrated, indicated by the sealed base engraved with the double-thunderbolt (Viswavajra). This is a statue of immense presence and spiritual grace.
