A
small vase finely painted with elaborate polychrome blossoms and traditional Japanese
motifs, highlighted with large and small butterflies in gold emboss, overlaid
with two ribbon wrapped panels of celestial immortals, who appear to be gathering
next to a pine tree, and celebrating with incense and offerings in the second
scene. The painterly art and compositions of the two paintings are topnotch, equally
impressive are the variety of techniques that rendered the finer patterns, through
which the simple vase is brought alive and shines like a jewel.
