The stag is believed to be the only creature able to seek out the sacred lingzhi. Thus it's a symbol of long life in ancient China. Finely carved and highly polished, this horned stag resting with its head turned back, munching on a bundle of lingzhi fungus, which has three cord holes carved through for use as a toggle. The stag is bulky and tactile in the round, in pale celadon muted green, and has an unctuous sheen and traces of russet on one side, in perfect condition.
