carving in pristine white ivory representing the Sikhin Buddha, a legendary primordial
buddha who found enlightenment while sitting under a large lotus flower. He is
distinguished chiefly by his mudra, the thumb and index fingers pressed together
to convey the union of method and wisdom, the three remaining fingers symbolizing
the Three Jewels of Refuge - Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. Well carved in snowy white
ivory, the Buddha in full lotus posture on a double lotus, mounted on a wood base.
