Antique
Japanese rosewood wood netsuke Foo Dog with Scarf An unusual wood netsuke with
features derived from very early styles, including the well-defined spine, the
curling mane and the archaic head with bared teeth; however the ears are uncommonly
round and floppy and lend a puppyish air to the characterization. Nicely carved
with a lush billowing tail, and a scarf held playfully in the animal’s teeth,
which is the characteristic of Chinese influence.
