Strong and steadfast, a Samurai stands guard equipped with both long and short sword, holding a lantern against the darkness. This antique Okimono is carved from a solid piece of ivory, well marked with striations and layering, cream to gold in color with age patina, lightly stained semi-gloss finish with some areas burnished from handling over time. Engraving with sumi in the deeply recessed eyes and the eyebrows, the hair and the textured edges of the warrior's kimono.
