A pair of sacred horses carved from one section of a fine ivory tusk, both pieces well marked and lightly stained, polished to a soft sheen with turquoise inlays for the eyes. Depicting the sacred horse which soars above the foaming sea, flames rising from its back in a fiery column on which a sacred dharma book lies opened. Inscription on the bottom reads: The Great Ming Dynasty.
