Quan Yin carved from teak wood, sitting in royal ease position with her hands
taking the shape of two charitable madras. The unnamed carver’s skill is evident
in the statue’s details, particulars like the elaborate head piece, coiffured
hair, and the carved through ribbon hanging from the goddesses’ shoulders. Life-like
in every way, she sits on a solid double plinth, and when combined with the folds
of cloth hanging from her legs, a three dimensional depth is achieved. A beautiful
and lasting piece remianing in excellent condition. <
