Unusual representation of a Buddhist pavilion resembling a Chedi, a bell-shaped edifice under which relics of the Buddha or revered religious teachers are buried. Within a miniature pavilion are gardens and paths where people can be seen walking. Well carved dense dark horn with a hard surface and glossy finish; the details evoking a protected shelter for rest and contemplation as an outward symbol of the imperturbable shelter of Buddha consciousness.
