Condition: Very Good! This
Happy Buddha Hotei holding a glistening white mouse has a child like quality which
embodies vibrant equanimity. The mouse has a long tail that is textured with realism
and melds seamlessly into the sleeve of his robe, curled in the palm of his right
hand and nestled close to his chest. In his left, Hotei holds a dual chambered
gourd with a delicate flower carved onto the side. His robes hang in subtle folds
and are carved with a beautifully delicate pattern and motif; which opened to
reveal a full and round belly. He smiles with joy and displays an endearing subtle
gap between his teeth. Skillfully carved in young ivory. Hotei's countenance is
both archetypal and uniquely engaging.
