This sublime ceramic Guan Yin depicts the Chinese Goddess of Compassion in a relaxed tribhanga pose. She appears youthful with porcelain-white skin tone, cherry lips, and downcast eyes in a serene expression. Floating above a large leaf above two budding lotus flowers, her elaborately painted garment and windblown sleeve drifting elegantly to her feet. She held a long-stemmed pink and red lotus flower resting in her left hand. The figure is lavishly adorned on pure white porcelain with flower motifs in classic Wucai 五彩 colors. Complimentary with the draping of rhythmic elegance in the linear design. With a life-like presence, the statue denotes the goddess in traditional formalism with a majestic presence. Seal mark: "Wu Heji", Made in China (An Republic era Fengxi Chaozhou Province kiln 潮州吴合记瓷). Note that a tiny trace of kiln ash adhered below her lips. Overall, the statue is in excellent condition.
