Missing lid, overall very good condition!
An immaculate Satsuma urn, with translucent crackle-glazed over a cream white bulbous spherical surface. Hand-painted outlines and inline scored in gold, furnished a vibrant scenery of palaces, pagoda, and temples in the distance. The urn features twenty-two well-painted figures, trailing what appears to be a young nobleman or Daimyo on a horse marching in procession. Marked on the bottom is the well known Satsuma seal in a rectangular reserve. The 20th century Showa period urn is likely missing a lid, nevertheless a gorgeous centerpiece on an accompanied tight-grained elmwood pedestal.
