An impossibly small antique Child Benediction Jibo Kannon, or Koyasu Kannon enshrined in a carved wood lacquer zushi, gilded gold interior walls, exterior decorated with gilded bronze floral ascend; the meticulously carved and painted miniature Bosatsu is dressed in a multifold long robe, with her left foot lightly forward in tribanga position, she stands serenely above a lotus pedestal, with a flaming halo glowing behind her, and in her front a tiny baby wrapped to a cloth carrier, of which she held with her left hand. The small zushi box is well preserved, the hinges and locking mechanism are tight and in very good working condition. It's a delicate traveling companion nonetheless.
