Excellent Dressed
in traditional Chinese costom, her eyes gaze foreward, and her body leans slightly
toward the side, she holds a large flower in her right, and demurely shields her
face with a fold out fan. This ivory carving is an exceptionally sensitive depiction
of beauty and charm of a Young Chinese girl. The carving is likely carved from
an Asian ivory tusk, it has a a finely polished even shine in beautiful snowy
white color. The ivory statue is likely carved in Hong Kong in the early 20th
century. It is well preserved with no visible defect. Private Collection
