A gleaming gilt bronze Amitayus Buddha in a five-pointed crown, adorned with large earrings and necklaces, dressed in princely robes detailed with hand chased foliate motifs. His eyes downcast, face conveys youth and exuberance. He sits centering between two flowing cloud-like scarves. Holding a myrobalan elixir vase resting on his lap, the Buddha of Eternal Life is in meditation above an upturn lotus throne. As in conformity with his Dhyana Mudra, he teaches the essential message of meditation, inviting us to withdraw our external senses inward into higher states of concentration.
