Condition: worn, o.a. good!
This
noble Kannon Bosastu, the bodhisattva of endless compassion, breathes with age
and the worship of time. The wood is aged and weathered. The robes are layered
with multiple folds and the deity is delicately hooded at the crown. In her right
hand she holds a mala that is circled around her right knee. She sits in royal
ease one leg bent up and one in half lotus. The statue fits comfortably in the
palm of the hand perhaps pointing to its past use as a gracious good luck charm
and traveling companion for long journeys. Much of the delight in the piece is
in its evident usage and worship. Nevertheless it remains in good condition. (SD)
