A
fine example of fine Qing Wucai porcelain ceramics, for the Dynasty was a treasure
house of art, producing a prodigious amount of colorful wares and glaze innovations.
Here a graceful and demure Quanyin is represented in tones of white and flowering
spring colors, her robes ornamented with floral motifs and draping silkily, fluttering
in the breeze. In her left hand she holds a tall stem of lotus; lotus buds, stems
and seeds surround the base on which she stands. Bearing a kindly smile, she brings
all who see her the grace of her compassion.
