Ganodema Lingzhi, literally means Spirit Mushroom. It is the oldest known medicinal mushroom, which has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years throughout East Asia, venerated as the food of immortals, and carved emblem of longevity that placed in homes and temples for positive Feng Shui. Nevertheless, this carved dragon on reishi is a rare and unusual find. On the front a green dragon is seen with a gold pearl, frolicking among black rocks and white clouds. Where as the intriguing organic quality of the fungus, or ear-like leaf form is thoroughly preserved. The carving has been mounted to a plexiglas for display purpose. It makes a mysterious and poetic rendering of transience with efficacious effects.
