Tara
the goddess of compassion, the primary female bodhisattva in Mahayana Buddhism.
She has 21 forms, each associated with a different color and range of quintessential
attributes. She is the universal mother, lucid in its kindness and known as the
source of deep refuge. She offers compassionate protection to all sentient being
in uncertain moments and time.
Sumptuously
cast, with a red coral for the third-eye, the new moon diadem crowns her head,
the mantel which graces her neck and the artful bangles that embellish her arms
are intricately wrought, her curves reveal the form and countenance of a graceful
young woman, she is youthful and radiates a spiritual luminosity, her left hand is gracefully arched
in vitarka mudra, and her right hand in charity mudra. The two lotuses that frame
the bodhisattva are in full bloom. Exceptional artistry expressed with strength
and divine grace.
