okimono netsuke hybrid of Bishmon, the God of Wealth. This little gem quality
ivory carving has an even cream color, dense and well marked with spirit and subtlety,
exemplifying the exuberant of Meiji to Showa periods. The spiraling beard and
upturned brows of the warrior bristle about an expression of charms. Engraving
of hair lines and pupils with sumi, sumptuous rendering of interlocking armor.
Two openings between the pagoda and sash serves as natural himotoshi for wearing
as a netsuke. Signed Seisei and inlaid in coral reserve.
